How long does it take to learn classical Latin?
If you have greater knowledge of Romance languages, either through it being your native language or one you've learned before, it can take around 600-750 hours to learn Latin. This is the equivalent of about 24-30 weeks in a class, so at least half a year of intensive Latin.
How hard is classical Latin?

If there's one thing that everyone who's studied Latin could agree on, it's that the grammar rules are incredibly hard. The word “declension” is enough to send shivers down one's spine. The word order is arbitrary, each of the verbs has several cases and all the nouns have gender.
Is classical Latin still spoken?
Latin can be spoken and is spoken today, but this does not mean that it is used in the same manner as modern languages such as English or Spanish. Today, speaking Latin is mainly a tool for learning and teaching Latin.
