Can stuttering be repeating words?
If you stutter, your speech may sound interrupted or blocked, as though you are trying to say a sound but it doesn't come out. You may repeat part or all of a word as you to say it. You may drag out syllables. Or you may talk breathlessly, or seem tense while trying to speak.

How common is the genetic link in stuttering?
The evidence for genetic factors in stuttering is overwhelming, with genetic factors playing a role in at least half of all cases. Although stuttering does cluster in families, severity does not. In other words, if you have a family member who stutters, you are more likely to stutter.
What is Dysphemia?
The CIE-10 (International Classification of Mental and Behabioural Disorders -W.H.O) defines dysphemia as the “speech impediment characterised by a frequent repetition or prolongation of sounds, syllables or words; or by the rise of frequent doubts or pauses which interrupt speech's rhythmic flow”.
