Which book is best for learn Latin?

Familia Romana is by far the best book to get a strong foundation in Latin. I used it myself to learn Latin. I also use it in teaching and it's the book I always recommend first when asked. Familia Romana is entirely written in Latin and takes you from sentences like “Roma in Italia est” to longer intermediate texts.

Is Latin 1 hard?
